History as told by History Makers: The Memoir of Amir Teymour Kalali by Habib Lajevardi

This book is a narration of Amir Teymour Kalali’s memoir. Mohammad Ibrahim Amir Teymour (Commander-In-Chief Nosrat) (1894-1987) was one of the crucial figures in Iran’s political scene for over fifty years, either as a participant or a witness. In addition to being the patriarch of the Teymouri Clan (residing in East Khorasan), he has held multiple governmental positions. During Ghavamolsaltaneh’s rule of Khorasan and Colonel Mohammad Taghi Pesian’s heading of the district’s gendarmerie (1917-1921) he was the governor of Quchan. He also participated in many of the National Congress Council’s meeting during the reign of Reza Shah, and was a known friend and associate of the likes of Ghavamolsaltaneh, Seyed Hassan Modarres, Teymour Tash, Vosough Oldoleh, Motmenolmolk, and Ali Dashti. During the early years of Mohammadreza Shah’s rule he was the lawyer of congress and held the position of the head of the Ministry of Labour and the National Supervising Body for municipalities. He left Iran after the revolution of 1979 but returned in 1982 and remained in Iran till his passing. The current book was prepared in the framework set by The Iran Oral History Project at Harvard University in a conversational manner and includes personal memories as well as social and political activities of Amir Teymour Kalali.
